Beatport’s top 10 best choreographed music videos

The music video has lost its luster and for the most part, has been de-emphasized. However, there are still videos that manage to escape the generic routine and manage to showcase originality. Since dancing should go hand-in-hand with dance music, Beatport has put together its list for the top 10 best choreographed videos of 2012. Ballet and synchronized dancing was a big theme among the selections ( Schlachthofbronx’s “Everyday of the Week” Michael Woods’ “We’ve Only Just Begun” and Jessie Ware’s “Night Light”). Dillon Francis and Diplo’s video for “Que Que” is expectedly wacky, featuring kids dancing to inexplicable backdrops. Claude VonStroke and Kry World’s video for “Turbosteppa” is a compilation of the dance slips submitted fans, some of which donned costumes and included their pets, kids, and grandparents. The #1 choice, Todd Terje’s “Inspector Morse” features a man dancing his way through a town.

Complete rankings:

1. Todd Terje “Inspector Morse”
2. Claude VonStroke and Kry World “Turbosteppa”
3. Gacha “Bowl”
4. Holly Herndon “Movement”
5. FaltyDL “She Sleeps”
