Producer and songwriter DJ Shadow has unveiled his newest project, which can be said to be like a musical time capsule. Total Breakdown: Hidden Transmissions from the MPC Era, 1992-1996, is the archival collection of DJ Shadow’s beats and songs from the years surrounding the 1996 classic Endtroducing – a time when only a AKAI MPC-60 sampling drum machine, two turntables, and Pro Tools were the instruments of an EDM artist. Now that’s what we call truly old school.
