Surkin’s “USA” is a French Revolution
November 7, 2012 will mark an event in music history when French electro DJ Surkin invades our airwaves with his appropriately named album USA. Within the first five seconds of the album’s introductory track, one is greeted with euphonious electric sounds– a throwback to the days of boom boxes and break-dancing.
Based on the his imaginary memories of eighties urban America, Surkin brings many of his past pop influences into his new album by customizing existing sounds from Yellow Magic Orchestra, NYC freestyle, and Fireworks FM into a joyous, juvenile, body-moving record. There’s no doubt that USA will be a breath of fresh air in the club scene as well as an instant classic.
