Hannes Harms’ Flat Speaker
A boombox that fits in your wallet? Why not.
German born masters candidate Hannes Harms, a student at London’s Royal College of Art, has created what might by the world’s flattest speaker. Coming in at a mere .5mm thick, (that;s about .19 inches), the sleek, stainless steel boombox is made of flat electrical components that are also 100% recyclable.
Although it is not yet clear whether the product will be produced for the commercial market, Harm’s lean, eco-friendly speaker would be shipped flat in a standard envelope and the buyer would then assemble the speaker by bending it along pre-scored lines. Sounds like the future to us.
